B achtiar Karim is an Indonesian billionaire who runs Musim Mas, one of the world's largest and most integrated palm oil corporations. The business was founded by his late father, Anwar Karim, who started a soap factory in the 1930s before moving into palm oil. Bachtiar and his brothers, Burhan and Bahari, inherited the business and have built it into a global giant.

Musim Mas is involved in the entire palm oil supply chain, from owning and managing vast palm oil plantations in Indonesia to operating refineries, manufacturing oleochemicals, and producing consumer goods like cooking oil and soap.
