C ai Kui is a Chinese real estate billionaire and a co-founder of Longfor Properties, one of China's largest and most successful property developers. He established the company in 1993 in Chongqing with his then-wife, Wu Yajun. Together, they built Longfor into a major publicly traded enterprise known for its high-quality residential and commercial developments, including shopping malls and apartments.
For many years, Wu Yajun was the public face and chairwoman of the company, while Cai Kui was a key shareholder and director. Following their divorce in 2012, Cai Kui received a substantial stake in the company, worth billions of dollars, making it one of the largest divorce settlements in history. He has since stepped down from his roles at Longfor and has used his immense wealth to invest in other areas, including co-founding Junson Capital, a Hong Kong-based investment firm with a global portfolio of real estate and financial assets.
