C heng Yixiao is a Chinese technology entrepreneur and the co-founder of Kuaishou Technology, the company behind the hugely popular short-video and live-streaming app, Kuaishou. A programmer by training, Cheng initially created Kuaishou as a mobile app for sharing animated GIFs. He later teamed up with his co-founder, Su Hua, who became the CEO, to transform the app into a short-video platform.

Kuaishou grew rapidly, particularly in China's smaller cities and rural areas, by focusing on content from ordinary users, which differentiated it from its main rival, Douyin (the Chinese version of TikTok). The platform became a massive social and e-commerce ecosystem. As the company's Chief Product Officer, Cheng has been the visionary behind the app's features and user experience. Kuaishou's massive IPO on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 2021 was one of the largest tech listings in years and turned Cheng and his co-founder into multi-billionaires.
