L eopoldo del Pino y Calvo-Sotelo is a Spanish billionaire and an heir to the Ferrovial construction fortune. He is one of five children of the late Rafael del Pino y Moreno, who founded the company in 1952 and built it into one of the world's largest transportation infrastructure companies, known for operating major airports like London's Heathrow and toll roads across the globe.
After his father's death, Leopoldo and his siblings inherited control of the company. However, due to disagreements over strategy, Leopoldo sold a significant portion of his stake in Ferrovial and stepped down from the board. He has since focused on managing his own fortune through his investment firm, Siemprelara. While he retains a smaller stake in Ferrovial, a large part of his wealth is now independent of the family's main enterprise, and he has diversified his investments across a range of other assets.
