D oug Meijer is an American billionaire heir to the Meijer supercenter fortune. He is the son of the late Frederik Meijer, who built the company into a retail giant, and the grandson of Hendrik Meijer, a Dutch immigrant who founded the business as a single grocery store in Greenville, Michigan, in 1934.
