G il Shwed is an Israeli self-made billionaire and a pioneer of the global cybersecurity industry. He is the co-founder and CEO of Check Point Software Technologies, the company that invented the first commercial firewall. While serving in the Israeli Defense Forces' elite intelligence unit, Unit 8200, he developed his deep expertise in computer security.
In 1993, he co-founded Check Point with two partners and launched their first product, FireWall-1, which became an industry standard and the foundation of modern network security.
