G iuliana Caprotti is an Italian heiress who, along with her children, inherited a significant stake in Esselunga, one of Italy's largest and most successful supermarket chains. She is the widow of the company's legendary and autocratic founder, Bernardo Caprotti, who built Esselunga into a retail giant with a reputation for high quality and operational excellence.

Upon her husband's death in 2016, a family dispute erupted over the control of his estate. Bernardo had left a controlling stake in the company to his second wife, Giuliana, and their daughter, Marina, largely cutting out the two children from his first marriage.
