R uan Liping is the chairman of Goneo Group (formerly Gongniu Group), China's undisputed leader in power strips and electrical switches. An engineer by training, he started his career at a mechanical research institute before quitting to enter the electrical business in 1995. Frustrated by the poor quality of existing power strips, he founded the company with his brother Ruan Xueping, aiming to produce safer and more durable products. He named the brand "Bull" (Gongniu) in honor of the Chicago Bulls and Michael Jordan.

Goneo Group revolutionized the humble power strip market in China by treating it as a branded consumer appliance rather than a commodity. Ruan successfully took the company public on the Shanghai Stock Exchange in 2020. He has since expanded the product line to include LED lighting and digital accessories, maintaining a dominant market share through a massive distribution network of over a million retail outlets.
