S ezai Bacaksiz is a Turkish billionaire and the co-founder of Limak Holding, one of Turkey's largest and most diversified conglomerates. A civil engineer by training, he founded the company in 1976 with his partner, Nihat Özdemir. They started Limak as a modest construction and engineering firm, gradually taking on larger and more complex projects. Their early success was built on a reputation for delivering quality infrastructure projects on time.
Over the decades, Bacaksiz and Özdemir have demonstrated remarkable entrepreneurial drive, transforming Limak from a pure construction company into a sprawling business empire with interests in cement, energy, tourism, and infrastructure management. A key part of their strategy involved participating in Turkey's privatization programs and large-scale public-private partnership projects. Limak has been a major player in building and operating airports, including a role in the consortium for the massive Istanbul Airport, as well as ports, and hydroelectric power plants. Bacaksiz, as the vice chairman, has been instrumental in the group's strategic direction and its rise to the top tier of Turkish industry.
