S hamsheer Vayalil is an Indian radiologist-turned-entrepreneur who is the founder and chairman of Burjeel Holdings, one of the largest private healthcare networks in the United Arab Emirates. After completing his medical studies in India and working as a radiologist in the UAE for a year, Vayalil decided to venture into the business side of healthcare. With financial backing from his father-in-law, fellow billionaire M. A. Yusuff Ali, he opened his first hospital in Abu Dhabi in 2007.

Driven by a vision to provide premium healthcare services, Vayalil expanded his network rapidly. His company, Burjeel Holdings, operates a portfolio of hospitals, medical centers, and pharmacies across the UAE and Oman under various brands, including its flagship 'Burjeel' hospitals, which are known for their high-end facilities and patient care.
