T om Persson is a Swedish billionaire heir and a third-generation member of the family that controls the fast-fashion giant Hennes & Mauritz (H&M). He is the youngest of three children of Stefan Persson, the company's longtime leader and richest person in Sweden, and the grandson of the company's founder, Erling Persson. The Persson family, through their private holding company, retains a controlling stake in the publicly traded H&M.

While his older brother, Karl-Johan Persson, has taken on the most prominent leadership role as the chairman of H&M, and his sister is also involved in the family's investment activities, Tom has forged a different path. After studying film in London, he has focused his career on the film industry. He runs his own film production company. His vast fortune, however, is derived from his inherited stake in the global fashion retail empire his grandfather founded and his father built into a global powerhouse.
