W illiam P. "Bill" Foley II is a prominent American businessman who has built a vast and diversified fortune through his career as a dealmaker in the financial services and specialty insurance industries. A lawyer by training and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he made his name by acquiring a small, struggling title insurance company in the 1980s and building it into Fidelity National Financial, which has become the largest title insurance company in the United States. He has used Fidelity as a platform to acquire and build a wide range of other businesses.
Foley is also the founder and chairman of the multi-billion dollar private equity and investment firm, Cannae Holdings.
