X u Shugen is the founder and chairman of Zhejiang Dingli Machinery, China's largest manufacturer of aerial work platforms (AWPs) and industrial lifts. He established the company in 2005 in Deqing, Zhejiang province, identifying a gap in the market for safe and efficient high-altitude work equipment. Under his leadership, Dingli has grown into a global brand, exporting its scissor lifts, boom lifts, and vertical lifts to over 80 countries.

Xu has emphasized innovation and international standards, allowing Dingli to compete with established Western rivals. The company listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange in 2015. Xu runs the business with family involvement; his brother, Xu Zhilong, serves on the board. His success reflects the modernization of China's industrial and construction sectors.
