He represents the fourth generation of his family to lead the business, which was founded by his great-grandfather, Martin Sixt, as a small limousine service in Munich in 1912. His father, Erich Sixt, transformed the company into a major international player and remains the chairman of the supervisory board.

Educated in London and Paris, Alexander joined the family business and took on increasing responsibility, particularly in the areas of strategy, technology, and corporate development. He and his brother were appointed co-CEOs in 2021, marking a formal transition of executive leadership to the new generation.
