A lfred Oetker is an heir to the German family that controls Dr. Oetker, a diversified conglomerate with roots in the food industry. He is one of eight children of the third-generation leader, Rudolf-August Oetker. The company, famous for its baking powder, frozen pizzas, and cake mixes, was founded by his great-grandfather August Oetker in 1891. Over the generations, the family expanded the business into a sprawling group with interests in food, beverages (Radeberger Group brewery), shipping (Hamburg Süd), and luxury hotels.

For years, the family's vast assets were held together under Oetker Group. However, long-standing disagreements among the heirs about the future direction of the company led to a historic split in 2021. The family divided the conglomerate into two independent entities. Alfred, along with his two brothers, received control of the sparkling wine and spirits company Henkell Freixenet and the chemicals business, among other assets.
