A rthur Blank is an American businessman and philanthropist who co-founded The Home Depot, the world's largest home improvement retailer. In 1978, after both being fired from a regional hardware store chain, Blank and his partner, Bernie Marcus, conceived the idea for a new kind of hardware superstore. They envisioned massive warehouses offering a huge selection of products at low prices, staffed by knowledgeable employees. This vision became The Home Depot.

The company grew at a meteoric pace, revolutionizing the retail landscape and becoming an American icon. Blank served as the company's president and later as its CEO. After retiring from The Home Depot in 2001, he purchased the Atlanta Falcons NFL team. He has since become a prominent figure in the sports world, also owning the Atlanta United FC of Major League Soccer. He is a renowned philanthropist, having signed the Giving Pledge and committing the majority of his wealth to charitable causes through the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation.
