B rian Chesky is an American technology entrepreneur who co-founded Airbnb, the online marketplace for home rentals that has fundamentally disrupted the global hospitality industry. A graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, Chesky was working as an industrial designer in San Francisco when he and his roommate, Joe Gebbia, struggled to pay their rent. To make some extra cash, they came up with the idea of renting out air mattresses on their floor to attendees of a local design conference, and 'Airbed & Breakfast' was born.
