D aniel Sundheim is an American billionaire hedge fund manager and the founder of D1 Capital Partners. He is a prominent member of the 'Tiger Cub' lineage of investors, having previously served as the Chief Investment Officer at Viking Global Investors, one of the most successful funds founded by an alumnus of Julian Robertson's Tiger Management. His long and successful tenure at Viking established him as one of the industry's brightest stars.

In 2018, he launched his own firm, D1 Capital Partners, with one of the largest initial fundraises in history. The firm operates on a hybrid model, investing in both public equities and private, late-stage venture capital deals, with a strong focus on the technology, consumer, and industrial sectors. D1 quickly grew into a multi-billion dollar powerhouse, known for its significant and concentrated bets. Sundheim is also a minority owner of the Charlotte Hornets NBA team.
