E duardo Saverin is a Brazilian billionaire technology entrepreneur and investor who is best known as one of the five co-founders of Facebook. Born into a wealthy Brazilian family, he moved to the U.S. and attended Harvard University, where he was a classmate and the first investor in Mark Zuckerberg's nascent social network. He provided the initial seed capital for TheFacebook.com and was its first chief financial officer.
His time at the company was short-lived and ended in a bitter legal dispute after his ownership stake was dramatically diluted. He sued the company and eventually reached a settlement that confirmed his status as a co-founder and left him with a small but incredibly valuable stake in the company. He later renounced his U.S. citizenship and moved to Singapore, where he has reinvented himself as a prominent venture capitalist. He is a co-founder and partner at B Capital Group, a global venture capital firm he started with Raj Ganguly, which invests in high-growth technology startups.
