H ong Ra-hee is a South Korean billionaire and the widow of the late Lee Kun-hee, the transformational longtime chairman of the Samsung Group. She is the matriarch of the powerful Lee family, which controls the Samsung empire, South Korea's largest and most important conglomerate. Her father was also a prominent businessman and media owner. She is one of the wealthiest women in South Korea.
After her husband's death in 2020, she and her three children, including the current Samsung chairman Jay Y.
