L ei Jufang is the chairwoman of Tibet Cheezheng Tibetan Medicine, a leading manufacturer of traditional Tibetan medicines. A physicist by training with a degree from Xi'an Jiaotong University, she discovered the potential of Tibetan herbal remedies during a trip to the region seeking personal healing. In 1995, she founded Cheezheng, focusing on modernizing the production of traditional treatments, particularly pain-relief patches and creams which became the company's flagship products.

Under her leadership, the company went public on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in 2009. Lei is celebrated for successfully commercializing Tibetan medicine and bringing it to a broader market while investing in the local economy of Tibet. She is one of the few self-made female billionaires in the pharmaceutical sector in western China.
