P avel Demidov is a Russian businessman and the founder of Dominant Group, one of the country's largest agricultural holdings. He established the company in 1995, initially focusing on sugar imports before expanding into domestic sugar production and agriculture. Dominant Group now controls over 400,000 hectares of land and operates numerous sugar refineries, dairy farms, and cheese processing plants across Russia, making it a key player in the nation's food security.

Before founding Dominant, Demidov served as deputy CEO of Alfa-Eco, the trading arm of Mikhail Fridman's Alfa Group, where he gained valuable experience in commodities trading. He owns a 50% stake in Dominant Group, with the remaining 50% held by his wife, Svetlana Demidova. The couple has built a vertically integrated agribusiness empire that is one of the top sugar and cheese producers in Russia. Despite his significant business footprint, Demidov maintains a relatively low public profile.
