T odd Wagner is an American technology entrepreneur who made his billion-dollar fortune during the dot-com boom. He is the co-founder of Broadcast.com, a pioneering internet radio and streaming company. In 1995, he and his partner, Mark Cuban, founded the company, which was one of the first to allow people to listen to live radio broadcasts over the internet. The company went public in a hugely successful IPO in 1998, and its stock price soared during the dot-com mania.
In 1999, at the peak of the bubble, they sold Broadcast.com to Yahoo for $5.7 billion in stock. Wagner and Cuban both became multi-billionaires from the deal. Since then, Wagner has focused on a variety of business and philanthropic ventures. He and Cuban co-founded the media and entertainment company 2929 Entertainment, which has interests in film production and movie theaters. He has also dedicated a significant amount of his time and money to philanthropy, founding the Todd Wagner Foundation, which focuses on at-risk youth and education.
