T ony Chen, whose Chinese name is Chen Mingyong, is a low-profile Chinese billionaire and the founder and CEO of Oppo, one of the world's largest smartphone manufacturers. He is a key disciple of the reclusive electronics tycoon, Duan Yongping, who is considered the godfather of China's smartphone industry. After working for Duan's early company, Subor, Chen was put in charge of the audio-visual business that would eventually become Oppo.
