V adim Moshkovich is a Russian oligarch who built his fortune primarily in the agriculture and real estate sectors. He began his business career in the early 1990s, after the fall of the Soviet Union, by importing and selling sugar. He later founded Ros Agro, which he has built into one of Russia's largest and most successful vertically integrated agricultural conglomerates. The company is a major producer of sugar, pork, and other agricultural commodities.
In addition to his agribusiness empire, Moshkovich has been a major real estate developer, with significant projects in the Moscow region. He has also had a career in politics, serving as a member of the Federation Council, the upper house of the Russian parliament, for several years. Following the 2022 invasion of Ukraine, he was sanctioned by the European Union and the United Kingdom, leading him to reduce his stake in Ros Agro to below 50%.
