V asily Anisimov is a Russian oligarch who made his fortune in the metals and real estate industries during the post-Soviet era. He started his career in the 1990s, building a business that sold aluminum. He later became a partner in the company that would become the aluminum giant, RUSAL. He sold his stake in the company for a massive profit. He also acquired a significant stake in the iron ore and steel producer, Metalloinvest, which he has since sold.
