X iang Wenbo is a Chinese industrialist and one of the co-founders of Sany Heavy Industry, one of the largest manufacturers of construction machinery in the world. In 1986, he, along with Liang Wengen and two other partners, quit their jobs at a state-owned enterprise and founded a small welding materials factory. They later pivoted into manufacturing heavy equipment, founding the Sany Group.
While Liang Wengen has served as the longtime chairman of the company, Xiang has been a key executive throughout its journey, serving as the president of Sany Heavy Industry. He has been instrumental in the company's operational management, its push into international markets, and has often served as the public face and spokesman for the company. He has been a key figure in Sany's growth into a global powerhouse, producing excavators, cranes, and concrete pumps that have been used to build much of modern China. The success of the publicly traded company has made the founding partners, including Xiang, billionaires.
