B ill Malhotra is an Indian-Canadian real estate developer and the founder and CEO of Claridge Homes, the largest real estate developer in Ottawa, Canada's capital city. An engineer by training, Malhotra immigrated to Canada from India in 1971. He began his career working as a structural engineer for the city of Ottawa before venturing into real estate development.

He founded Claridge Homes in 1986 and started by building a few townhouses. He steadily grew the company, focusing on the Ottawa market and earning a reputation for building high-rise condominiums, suburban communities, and retirement homes. He has become the most influential developer in the city, profoundly shaping its skyline and residential landscape. Despite his success, he has kept the company privately owned and has built a significant portfolio of income-generating properties, including hotels and commercial buildings, making him one of the wealthiest people in the national capital region.
