V incent Lo is a Hong Kong real estate billionaire and the founder and chairman of the Shui On Group. He is the son of a prominent Hong Kong real estate developer but struck out on his own to make his fortune. He is often referred to as the "Father of Xintiandi" for his most famous and transformative project: the Xintiandi entertainment district in Shanghai. In the 1990s, he took on the ambitious project of redeveloping a historic residential area of Shanghai, preserving its traditional "shikumen" architectural style while transforming the interiors into a fashionable hub of restaurants, bars, and boutiques.

The Xintiandi project was a massive critical and commercial success and became a benchmark for urban renewal in China. It cemented Lo's reputation as a visionary developer. He has since built a major real estate empire with a focus on large-scale, mixed-use community developments in major Chinese cities through his publicly traded company, Shui On Land. He also has interests in construction and construction materials through other group companies.
